Back in the day, when such clips were a method of loading revolvers, the Army issued Half-Moon clips, and web gear designed to accommodate such. I don't believe the Army ever offered/used full moon clips. Presumably, this was done on account of the inherent fragility of the full moon clips vice the half-moon clips. The .357 clips come in 3 different thicknesses to enable a custom fit. Winchester brass has the smallest grooves with Federal and Remington intermediate and Starline the largest. Hornady brass does not work well with moon clips. The standard TK Custom S&W clips you got with your revolver are .022" thick.
